Visa Runs

Featured Replies

about a topic which has been covered a milliion times already for sure, but taking into consideration any changes in the law, can one still do a visa run once or twice if necessary? Thanks

No problem, only Penang cna be difficult if you have has sevral tourist visas already.

Are you asking about getting a visa or doing a border hop to get another entry?

For a visa as Penang and Kota Bharu are the only places where a problem has been reported.

Four border runs for an exempt entry (15 days) and they may pull you aside to get your address and check out what you are up to.

As reported ,so far only minor problems if you apply for too many Tourist Visas.

At the landborder you can still enter with 15days stamps and after 4 consecutive times you will be requested to provide your personal details.

If you re-enter, after 4 times by Air or have a Tourist Visa in between those 15days stamps , this will reset you count to 1.

Hmmm...basically, I was just wondering if it looks like I were going to go beyond the 30 days allowed by virtue of having a U.S. passport, can I leave the country and then re-enter for another 30 days? Thanks again.

If you fly out and back you will get 30 days. By land you will only get 15 days.

If it is for only a few days you can get a 7 day extension (1900 bahe) at immigration.
