Uk Proof Of Income Letter

Featured Replies

Would someone be kind enough to tell me how the UK

proof of income letter is worded

Is your income stated by the month or annually ?

is it presented as sterling or baht ?

Thanks

It's stated monthly as sterling

Is this wanted for an extension of stay? If so, the embassy will provide you with a standard wording letter. The income figure will be expressed in sterling. The calculation to thai baht will take place at immigration on the appropriate day (but always a good idea to bring latest rates with you).

It depends in which currency your income is and if it is paid monthly or yearly.

My letter stated the monthly amount in baht saying more than xxx.xxx baht per month

It also state something to the effect that there are no negative information in the consular files about you......

It's stated monthly as sterling

In my last two letters the Consulate converted the monthly sterling amounts to Baht using a rate we agreed at the time. The letters only quoted a monthly Baht amount.

Mine quoted the amount in Baht, also that I was registered with the Embassy.

i provided my last years p60s, so it was the yearly sterling amount,it helped with my settlement visa as well,as embassy had confirmed my income, looked good in file.

Thankyou for all your replies

Interestingly, for such an official type embassy document,

people seem to be in total disagreement

Any ideas? could it be they have recently changed from

stating amount in sterling to baht ?

Perhaps you can request it to be done in baht and the normal currency is sterling.

I,ve just realised that the source of peoples income

is going to be very different

This means that one persons income may be directly in baht

from employment in Thailand also someone may have their

UK pension paid directly into a Thai bank

It would make sense that their letter would therefore be in baht

whereas someone whose pension/income is paid into a UK bank

the letter would more than likely be in sterling as the reference

would be from bank statements

Maybe this is the reason for the different replies !!!

If your employment is within Thailand you do not need a letter from the Embassy.

Uk state pensions will only start to be paid directly into a Thai bank from this October.

I supplied evidence in the form of my three most recent Isle of Man bank statements prior to application.

At my Immigration Office, Kanchanaburi, no bank book or bank letter was asked for.

This Embassy letter alone was sufficient for the officer to grant me an extension of stay.

Thank you, Dah fahrang. It was good of you to have kept a copy of the embassy letter and quoting its text here verbatim. I was hoping somebody had it available. Now added to the gallery:

Thankyou Dah Farang for copying out your letter

i.m assuming this is as it was and is not a translation

i was thinking that the letter would be in Thai as they are always

asking for documents to be translated

so it goes !

Immigration does not require translations of English. Other government departments do.
