cers
Whenever I got influenza in combination with fever, I always let the body heal itself, as long as it took. But are there any quick cures ? (I am not referring to the Mexican Flu.)

FBN
Viral diseases will usually run their course but, with influenza viruses, drugs like Tamiflu or Relenza can actually inhibit the virus replication in the host cells. Not all influenza viruses are sentitive to this but it is the only way a viral disease course can be "shortened". Probiotics have recently been reported to help on a prophylactic levels and my be worth trying. Other than that, healthy diet, healthy habits and general supportive treatment are just about the only options. Vaccinations, obviously, when available. Careful with compound elixers and the usual flu medications available over the counter especially if there are underlying medical conditions that may be exacerbated by the usual type of ingredient such as caffeine and acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin). These can rarely achieve much more than plain paracetamol.
