Dear True Internet user,

Due to tropical storm in Taiwan, CAT Telecom fiber optic cable leased lines have been damaged. This may cause slower speed in browsing some international web pages, where their servers are located in the Asian region, e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Hi5 and Yahoo. However, True Internet is doing its best to facilitate hi-speed Internet users with its TIG network that helps relieve such effects.

By the time the damage is completely fixed (around 15 Sep 09) the users will be able to access all web pages as usual. More information is available on www.newsfactor.com

Bandwidth services are at 98% for the damaged cables according to reports (http://www.gadgetell.com/tech/comment/asian-telecom-damaged-undersea-cables-to-be-fixed-soon/). I don't see True working at 98% of their supposed service levels....

We all know that ISP's in Thailand are not held accountable for any actions.

The only way they are going to start listening is when we, the users, start demanding discounts and/or no payments until services are at least acceptable.

I'm ready to do just that, but will others co-operate? I cancelled my True service when they tried to rip me off by changing my promotion and over billing me at the same time. When I went to my local True shop the first month, I was told to wait for the next bill that the mistake would be corrected. The next month was the same, so I went in to cancel immediately.

For two months after that, I still got bills from True and True online with different amounts stated. True had B.999 excluding vat for the 4mbps, while True online had B.1199 for the same promotion. Who was trying to fool who.

Before I cancelled, I called the call center and someone at the call center agreed there was a mix-up, but why not correct it within one month.
