Went out for a ride on Sunday for my first ride on a Harley, after riding jap sports bike for years, I never really even considered one, but now hmmm.

Picked a Fat Boy to ride and it turned out to be just perfect, very comfortable and easy to ride, the ride left downtown Chiang Mai and headed out around the Samoeng Loop, some nice twisty hills just like where I use to ride around Kinglake back in Aus, but now on the FB instead of a ZX9R was a bit of a difference.

After the Samoeng loop we headed out to Chang Dao for Lunch at Chang Dao Nest, the food and the views there are great, before stopping for lunch went to explore the nearby caves, well worth a visit if you can stand crawling through some tight holes. After Leaving Chang Dao we rode through some teak forests to Phrao, a little rain along the way but luckily just stopped for fuel as it started.

The day started at 9am and got back around 5pm with some 300km covered and thanks to Richo Harley tours for a great day out.

Nice little trip report and some great photos.

Love the roads up North.

So, how tempted are you re the HD? I'm still on Japanese.

Guess what my next bike will be, first word starts with H last word ends in y :)

Will be doing a longer trip next time, down along the Mekong river to Udon and back sounds nice, has anyone done this before?
