Dive Supply

Anybody who is based in Thailand, be very weary if you consider buying a Sunnto dive computer from this group of companies, from personnel experience I would strong suggest that you do not:-

http://www.divesupply.com/

http://www.samuidivesupply.com/

http://kohtaodivesupply.com/

http://www.kohchangdivesupply.com/

They are the local distributor for Sunnto here, however they do not honour the limited 2 warranty offered by Sunnto in other parts of the world. They provide a rather shoddy local quick fix service.

Basically, my Cobra 2 went back to them after the backlight stopped working and the air integration kept locking up, it was with them for a period of 7 weeks. It was then returned with them stating they could find nothing wrong with it! After 3 more dives it is now not reading depths correctly and calculating O2 pp's incorrectly (alarm going off at 16m when diving on EANx 36% @ 1.4pp setting).

Unfortunatly for me it is shortly to become a very expensive paper weight or doorstop. I will be contacting Sunnto direct to express my disappointment - but do not hold out much hope and have heard Uwatec provide much better after market support.

Be warned!!!! :)

Never had a problem with either my Suunto computers or Dive Supply. Very friendly and efficient service in over 10 years that I use them.

Probably best to contact Suunto directly. Sorry to hear about your bad luck, can only wish you good luck with this case.

Sorry to hear about your Cobra problem but I can not share your opinion.

We are dealing / buying our Equipment from this Dive Supply Group ( different Islands) since 8 years and been never disappointed from their team. Those guys are one the most professional guys for Diving Equipment in Aisa. We worked before with several suppliers in Thailand but we changed to Divesupply because of their locations and because of their very quick service and professional support if we have urgent orders or services needed. ( I guess there is no company who got this hugh stock of parts and products in Thailand. )

We are using several Suunto computers for Rental and also our staffs. We changed from Uwatec to Suunto because of the quick service and 2 years warranty worldwide. (There was no service center for Uwatec in Thailand.)

I guess you got bad luck with this computer....

Good luck for the future.

Greetings

Mohun

Good luck

I had lots of issues with my suunto computers mainly depth sensors going wrong.

To be fair the local suppliers DS where reasonable and got them repaired as soon as they could, however when a repaired item went wrong the fun began . DS again where fair but said Suunto wouldn't honor the warranty any more.

Trying to deal with suunto direct is painful time consuming and gets you no where.

Its a shame as the computers when working are a good piece of kit.

I had a Suunto stinger when they first came out, purchased from DS on Koh Tao. After around 4 years of daily use it totally packed in with no display etc. I took it to DS to check to cost of repair as it was obviously out of warranty. Got the computer back some time later with complete new internals with a charge of only a few hundred Baht for shipping etc. IMO I received excellent service beyond what I was entitled to from DS Koh Tao.
