What Internet Provider To Use

Featured Replies

Need to install internet connection in new house in Pattaya, East of Sukhumvit, (Darkside) have been reading horror stories on here for virtually every ISP, can anyone recommend a provider that works acceptably for at least most of the time! I don't want to pay megabucks, maybe 1000-1500 Baht.

TT&T Maxnet (or whatever they call it now) Premier, about 1,000/month. Have had very little problems over the 4 years I've had it here.

Was the one I was leaning towards but when I went to the TT & T office in Carrefour they sent me outside to a small stand promoting 3BB which seems to have taken over from Maxnet and they were pushing the Indy service but ONLY for use inside Thailand or 3BB at 1490 Baht per month for a 10MB connection. When I asked about Premier they produced an old price list showing various rates starting at 1090 Baht for Premier 2MB but as this was missing from their promotional literature I wasn't too sure if it was still available.

Good to hear it's works pretty consistently though, assuming I CAN still get it!

^ Yeah that is the price. It's 3MB now, it was upgraded automatically from 2MB one or two months ago. They probably forgot to upgrade the pricelist.

Don't forget that most people who live in Thailand, and even in Pattaya, are Thais, so their main market is the Thais. Premier and similar products that primarily targets farangs are secondary importance, even if you consider it a premium product.

I see your point, it's only our money they want and as much of it as possible! Hopefully that 3MB Premier will remain available even though they no longer promote it.
