The Train To Hua Hin

Recommended Posts

Hi. My parents would like to travel to Hua Hin from Bkk by Train in Dec. They would like the most comfortable seat/cabin there is.

Any ideas which train to go for if they would like comfort combined with speed.

Thank you

Your parents should make reservations in advance. These lines are mostly fully booked.

It's a slow trek - often the trains only have 3rd class, are ram packed and are painful... especially the return journey when it's tougher to get good seats, and the convenient times are often the little 3rd classers.

I much prefer trains over busses, but this is one journey where the VIP buses are a better option, in my opinion.

jasreeve17, see post #2

SP EXP DRC does not have 3rd class, nor first whilst we are at it.

That diesel car has plane type seats and a breakfast and lunch meal is served.

It usually gets in time in Hua Hin and reasonably on time in Chumpon.

You only make one point: it's not fast because it first goes North before turning South.

I use the train down to Hua Hin almost everytime. Buy a 3rd class ticked and head straight for the restaurant where you can eat and drink your way down to Hua Hin. Take the 13.00 rapid train and you will be there before dark.
