There have been alot of new foundations, and groups setting up to help the survivours of December's tsunami. I don't wish to cast judgement on any of them, nor belittle their work, or other attempts to help.

Unfortunately every disaster brings it's share of opportunists, and for this reason I urge you to be sure of who you are giving money to, and how your money is being used. My personal opinion is to either help someone directly if you are in the area, or use a known and trusted organization to handle your donation. Just choosing to holiday in Phuket or Krabi will be a big help to the people in the area who are suffering from a huge drop in work and income from tourism.

Please do not solicit donations for money in this forum. We've had to remove too many of them who have proven difficult to verify.
