Featured Replies

Just came across this pop-up on True's website.

That happens all the time - different areas of the city have maintenance late night/morning and you can confirm using phone number - normally only lasts a few minutes.

Did you notice the much improved speed check?

I couldn't download the image to see what it says, but does that explain why my Internet was behaving badly for the past week (could not connect to websites or very very slow connection to some sites) and now all of a sudden seems to be working OK again?

I obviously spoke to True about it (many times) and their response is as always "no, there is no problem".

Tats

No - it was just an announcement for routine maintance in different areas of the city at various times during the night. But there was a notice previously that the Taiwan line cuts were affecting circuits until September 15.

lopburi3 > think it went on longer than the 15th but it seems "OK" now . . . now True TV is saying they will have interrupted service for the next week or so due to "sun spots" :)

That happens and nothing that can be done about it - when the earth station/sat/sun are in a direct line the sun noise over-rides the sat signal for a few minutes. Happens twice a year for a few days and outage normally last less than 30 minutes.

As for TRUE ADSL, we do have short daily black-outs (10-15min on, 2-3min off) in the early morning for the past three days. The line stabilizes and is okay usually by 9-10AM. After that no problem for the rest of the day.

I put it down to maintenance / upgrade work and am not very concerned about it. Still have dial-up as a back-up. Only my son has a problem since, that now his school's out, he starts his on-line "work" (translation: games) early and dial-up is not an option for that.

In general I'm quite happy with what we have. Subscribed at 1Mbps as still stated on the invoice but we get 2Mbps. Constant stable 1.6-1.8Mbps download domestic AND international (US, EU and Asia).

Questions:

My son keeps on pestering me to get Maxnet since some of his friends have it and are happy with it.

1) does maxnet run only on TOT or also True tel.lines? we have both.

2) I've read a lot of negative stuff about it here on TV. Is all this true for all areas or limited to up-country?

3) Is anybody here on TV in the Rachaburana/Tungkruh/Dao Khanong/Bang Mod area of Bangkok who has Maxnet?
