September 23, 200916 yr Hi, I recently bought a DSLR and took it on holiday to take some snaps. Unfortunately, being the idiot that I am, I let some of the sun tan lotion on my face get on the LCD screen. I've tried using a dry cloth and computer cleaning fluid to try and get it off, but it just seems to smear the filmy layer around the screen. Anyone got any recommendations?
September 24, 200916 yr I use Evernet Screen Cleaner for my PC and TV screens. http://www.evernetintl.com/main.html Alcohol leaves streaks, this does not. I am not sure where/if you will find it in Thailand, but worth looking out for. I have moved the topic to the computer section as they probably have more experience with LCD screens.
September 24, 200916 yr I have found Carex (hand cleaner) very good for removing grease from eyeglasses so expect it would work - but probably need a lot of damp tissue to remove it/and grease as you can't put under tap as glasses. Will a Scotch/microfiber cloth not work? When clean they are good for picking up grease and dry. I would use a blotting rather than rub (which can scratch). Edited September 24, 200916 yr by lopburi3
September 24, 200916 yr Windex or any good quality commercial window cleaner, soft cloth for a gentle clean then wide off with a facial tissue.
September 24, 200916 yr Windex (but spray onto a soft cloth, not directly onto the screen). If you cant get hold of that then diluted vinegar will work (often used for cleaning windows)
