Creating A Discussion Forum

i was just wondering how can i create a forum just like this a small discussion forum for my personal web site?? and also the live chat application ...

well i am now just begining to learn about creating forum

u need PHP and SQL to be enabled on your web hosting plan...

your personal website is on your computer or on another host?

There are actually quite a few discussion boards available for free. But as the previous poster said in most cases you'll need php and mysql support.

The following software doesn't need these as it works with flat files:

The XOOPS content management system can be used to run discussion forums, and also offers a lot of other functionality. Check out the documentation (a visual introduction to XOOPS, the operations guide etc).
