Arabic Translation Required In Passport.

Featured Replies

I have post this question in the visa section but didn't get too much help.

I work in Libya and have just re-newed my passport whilst in the Uk. I now need to get an official Arabic translation in the new passport. Has anyone any ideas where I can do this and how I go about it?

Thanks

If you are in Bangkok I would try Sukhumvit Soi 3. The entire middle east gathers together in this area.

AFAIK there are some translators (I remember a sign) at least you could get advise in this area.

How official does it have to be?

I know someone (in Ban Chang) who could probably tell you what the Arabic says but couldn't give an attested translation.

Edit: Otherwise one of the Arab Embassies might be able to help, or head to Arab Town in Pattaya to ask there as it's closer to you than BKK.

It has to have some sort of authorization stamp.

I'm planning on calling the British Embassy tomorrow for advice and the Saudi embassy too.

I wonder if Pattaya would have such a facility? It would certainly beat going to Bangkok. Maybe I will post again in the Pattaya forum.

Is there a Libyian embassay or consulate in Bangkok?

The only place in Bkk I know that can do it is the, Shekul (spelling) Islam office, its located on Suk soi 49.

If you are heading out of town along Suk you will see it signposted just before the turn into soi 49, its a fair way down the soi on the lh side, located in some sub soi, again signposted, its actually nearer Petchaburi rd than Suk rd.

They have all the proper stamps etc, depending on the time of day you get there, they can do it while you wait.

send a PM to ZAZA

she can help you, she has all the Arabic connections
