I'll move this to technology.

It all depends upon what you intend receiving in Oz.

Different satellites have varying signal levels and need different size dishes.

The services are probably encrypted so you will need to subscribe and get a smart card

to view anything worth watching.

I suggest you start reading here. http://ezinearticles.com/?Australia-Satell...a&id=678558

A Google in "Satellite TV in Australia" will give you more places to look.

Question is very vague..

When you say "will a decoder from Thailand" etc.. What decoder ?? Theres literally 1000's on the market.. Any good general purpose decoder like a dreambox or similar works with whatever signals it can pick up and decode.

Then you have the aerial / dish issues.. Thats related to the feed your trying to pick up.. So entirely dependant on which of the 100's of sat feeds your pointing it at.

Then theres the decryption of non FTA signals, you dont mention what CAMs or access cards your attempting to use in this setup.

If all of these questions confuse you go to your local sat installer and pay them.

Clearly the Op wants to know if anyone has heard of a setup that works. Explaining all the various ins and outs of the technology is hardly worth your time.

If you don't know of a setup that works, then why post?
