Travel Cambodia

Featured Replies

I;m thinking of going to Cambodia but worried now because I read there are no ATMs and credit cards are not accepted plus no traveler checks. The only way to get extra money is credit card advances which is very expensive. So what do you do bring a bunch of cash with you and hope you don't run out.

There are ATMs in Cambodia, at least two in the Phnom Phen airport and more scattered around the city.

When i first went to phnom penn in 02 there was 1 !,........now they are everywhere, including inside some shops and pharmacys,.

Yes , Cambodia has come a long way in a short time , Lots of Atms in the cities , cash advance at many banks and Western-unions on your credit card , some charge 1% for the service , banks change travellers cheques and there are lots of money changers for some currencies at good rates .

Thanks for all the replys, I couldn't imagine a city with out ATMs.

Definitely atms, credit cards are accepted at hotels... not sure on the traveler cheques, but assume a bank would change them.

first time in Phon Pheng in 1999 and couldnt find a single atm and had some major problems due that, but last time 2 years ago they where everywhere... and you get USD out from them which I found rather funny =)

Riel is worthless - Khmers are rather smart to use the $. :)

There are ATM in all the big cities.
