Microsoft Security Essentials

Featured Replies

Anyone have any experience or opinion about Microsoft Security Essentials? It was just officially released yesterday and thinking of giving it a try. It had mixed reviews in the beta stage but more positive than negative depending on the website.

There are many proven, effective security options out there and it's not worth rolling the dice on a maybe. OneCare got good initial reviews too until independent tests showed it to be so poor that it was not even evaluated in further tests. Go with Eset, Avira or Kaspersky and you have a sure thing. Go with MS's latest and you are gambling.

Another wrench in the toolbox is surely a good thing.

I thought I'd give it a try, always like to have a go at something new :)

I passed the validation check before downloading the file but when it came to install it said my version of Windows was not genuine :D

Why have two validation checks? If it passed one why should it fail the second?

:D
