I do not understand this. Yes, it's easy to buy and prices are cheap but what you get is another story. Also very difficult to verify unless tested in a lab. If you are willing to gamble then go for it but after learning my lessons I will not purchase from Lazada or Shopee. For the makers it is of course very profitable. Here's a little analysis and costs. First of all Berberine is a real plant-derived compound. Legitimate manufacturers (whether in China or elsewhere) operate under GMP standards, quality testing, and regulatory oversight. The ones in Lazada and Shopee, who knows? Typical price for Berberine 1–25 kg, 97–98% is USD 80–135 per kg (in bulk!) or 25+ kg, standard USD 50–90 per kg and premium high grade is USD 100–150+. So at $100/kg → ~$3.00 per bottle for Berberine. Additional real costs for a legitimate operator: HPLC assay + heavy metals + microbial testing (batch-level) Stability data, COA, certifications (GMP, ISO) Shipping to Thailand + import duties + local distribution Label compliance and platform fees However, in China, there are no limits how far they go to increase profits. They do have even fake eggs... Always check for batch-specific COAs with HPLC results and third-party lab reports when possible because legitimate suppliers provide them.
