The wife informs me that Laos has an open border for 1 day only tomorrow(Monday) and that everyone/anyone is welcome free of charge. I cannot believe that, I am guessing that it is for Thais only. Anyone know?

Friends, staying now in Vientiane, told me that there are some boat racing, as well, on the Mekong.

But I doubt that non-Thai will be able to avoid the visa fee...
