Yes, perhaps the operator made a mistake, and we know that safety standards in Thailand are not the same as in other countries, but I would think that this type of freak accident could happen anywhere. However, I do sometimes wonder about the standards in place / enforcement / training / maintainence etc at fun parks, thrill rides and so on - not only here. So somebody back home is going to think "I've never had any intention of bungy jumping in Thailand but I'm not going there because somebody who did go bungy jumping had an accident"?
