xerostar
One more nail in the coffin of Thai tourism. Rishi Baveja was on a month-long holiday in Phuket to celebrate gaining a degree in engineering when he decided to visit the Jungle Bundy centre in Kathu. http://www.news.com.au/travel/story/0,2831...5014090,00.html
tonititan
Nah! I don't think too many people come to Thailand for bungee jumping. Yes, perhaps the operator made a mistake, and we know that safety standards in Thailand are not the same as in other countries, but I would think that this type of freak accident could happen anywhere. The man even said that he wasn't going to sue the operators.

bkkjames
Two things come to mind. Firstly, hardly unique to Thailand if one googles bungy accidents. However, I do sometimes wonder about the standards in place / enforcement / training / maintainence etc at fun parks, thrill rides and so on - not only here. TAWP
I saw a rope break (or actually, a poorly fixed previous damage) in a video from an N.American carnival. The guy landed belly-side on the ground but survived.
kurnell
So how many nails can this 'Thai coffin' hold? Must be thousands by now. I doubt that there is a more widely used phrase on THai Visa forum.

mca
One more nail in the coffin of Thai tourism. Unless you've posted tongue in cheek I can't see your logic here mate. So somebody back home is going to think "I've never had any intention of bungy jumping in Thailand but I'm not going there because somebody who did go bungy jumping had an accident"? I might as well say "I'm never going to visit home again because somebody in my hometown died in a car accident last week."
