October 11, 200916 yr I've been with CAT using their GSH DSL package for over a year now without problems. A couple of weeks back I noticed increased error messages when surfing.. 'Page cannot load' etc.. Discovered this was only happening when I had Bit Comet running in the background... Firefox worked fine until I started Bit comet and then it would fail to load pages and run painfully slow until I shutdown Bitcomet.. My torrents still download but at a snails pace compared to before... 2-5kb compared to 200-400kb.. What is happening ? I haven't changed any settings so why is it that I'm havign so much trouble ? CAT have been out and checked the line.. No probs running at 1900 - 2000 and steady all day... Any of you torrent gurus got a solution ?

October 11, 200916 yr Are you using the latest version of BitComet? It is possible that the tracker or your peer blacklist old versions. A few popular tracker regularly blacklist older versions of uTorrent and presumably other clients. Also check if you have disabled uPNP, possible that security suite has done so.
October 12, 200916 yr Agree with mattcodes. Many if not most trackers don't like BitComet because it works against the principle of sharing in the BT system, and quite a few other clients have the option of auto-banning peers using BitComet. Get a generally acceptable BT client like the latest version of uTorrent, and the problem should sort itself out.
