i'm a german citizen.i'm in thailand on a 30 day visa on arrival. i want to go to laos for a week or so and like to know if i can apply for a tourist visa in lao at the thai embassy. i'm a little confused with that 30 day rule. i would appreciate if somebody can help me

You can apply for a tourist visa in Laos. Apply for two entries. They should be free.

Yes you may apply for a tourist visa (good for a 60 day stay) in Vientienne, Laos. If you reenter Thailand by land without a visa, you will get permission to stay another 15 days. If you fly back into Thailand without a visa, you will get a new permission to stay of 30 days. So it depends on your travel plans what you will need.

You are now here on a 30 day Visa Exempt Stay.

Yes you can go to Laos and apply for a Tourist Visa. The Thai Consulate in Vientienne will issue a double entry. They are still free at the moment.

If you return to Thailand by land without a Visa you will get a 15 day entry stamp.

andi81, it would have been helpful if you had given some indication about your travel itinerary. You say you are going to Laos for a week but do not say where you plan to go from there. It appears that from Laos you plan to travel to Thailand again but you do not say how long you plan to stay in Thailand before leaving this country again.

am ready to send to la my visa app for a tourist visa (by fed ex both ways}.....asking for 1 entry...however if 2 entry request is still considered frre i will request 2 entrys......i know 1 entry is good for 60 days and a 30 day extension....what is the purpose of getting 2 entry tourist visa...i may want to stay longer than 90 days?????a little help here would be appreciated.....

Why wouldn't you apply at the Thai Embassy in Mexico ?

because i dont feel 100% confident that they are competent and would most likely lose my passport......i dont think there is a abundant of mexicans applying for a visa to thailand??????since i am a us citizen it may cause them to go alittle confused or something???????god help us small people
