Non Imm B Question

Featured Replies

I have a work permit and my 3 months for my Non Imm B are nearly finished, I am due to go and extend for 12 months, however while getting my Non Imm B I was informed by the embassy staff that I can go back and get another Non Imm B by returning to the embassy outside Thailand and presenting my work permit and payment and passport to get a new non imm b for 3 months, is this correct?

There are reasons for not extending yet however that is not relevant to the question.

Thank you

Yes, correct.

And you can get a 12-months multiple entry Non-B in KL.

Thanks, I am a little confused as at the embassy they said I can do this without the plethora of paperwork I took for my initial application, she said just work permit and passport and payment, however when we called the embassy they said I need all the paperwork as per my first application

1. First choice would be the 1 year extension of stay based on employment from immigration, if you qualify.

2. Second choice would be to get another non-immigrant 'B' visa from a Thai embassy or consulate outside Thailand.

the reason I can not extend is based on number of staff, we let some go and I only have one week to sort this, My concern is whether I can go overseas without taking all the paperwork I took first time, just need to know whether my work permit replaces the need for all this paperwork.

Also the KL one (a bit miffed as I was in KL last week haha), how much would I pay for the 12 month non imm b and can I just present my work permit and passport and payment (and app form obviously)

You will need to provide full paperwork. Embassy staff are unfortunately generally poor in giving advice. Reports suggest you need 8 months+ left on your WP to get multi-entry Non-B visa at KL, otherwise single entry.

Thanks thaiphoon, the 8 months is not a problem however getting all the paperwork together is a grind. maybe have to employ a couple of cleaners haha

I know it. Complete PIA.

You may care to look at the link below by way of checklist

thanks, would I still need the letter from labour dept saying there is work permit available as I already have work permit?

No, just take your work permit with you.

Thanks for your help, so work permit and the rest of the documents I took first time, and KL is the best bet as I can get 12 month multi entry Non Imm B

Work to the checklist on the link I gave you and you will be fine. Penang will also issue multi-entry Non-B, but company has to have registered share capital of at least 8m baht. Not so at KL.
