Thai Bank Account For Foreign Non-residents

Featured Replies

Hello to everybody.

I hope I am posting this in the right section!

We have bought a villa in Koh Samui which will be completed soon.

Hoping to rent it although we understand the rental market is quite depressed at present.

It would make sense to have a bank account in THB, where to deposit money and from where to withdraw money to pay ongoing expenses.

Is it possible for non-Thai nationals not residing in Thailand to open a Bank Account in the country?

Yes - just go to a bank with your passport. Kasikorn is most friendly. Only issue a savings account though. :)

Thanks guys.

Sorry for posting in the wrong section! :)

It's legal to have a bank account but illegal to own the villa!

Don't scare the man, it's legal to own the bank account and the villa but not the land.
