How Can I Change Gbp Into Thb Easily?

Featured Replies

I want to change some English pounds into Thai baht. What is the easiest way I can do this? Do any of the Thai banks do this? I went to Kasikorn because they had a currency exchange only to be told they could not help me. If none of the banks can help me where would the nearest place be for me to go as I live near Pinklao.

Thanks.

Ian

Not all bank branch offices offer foreign exchange services, maybe this bank you went to was a small one? Go to a bigger bank office and try there.

You've got to be kiddin' right.

If your really serious, nip over the river, turn left into kaosan road, you'll have no problem there.

Would bank branches at Central Pinklao be classed as 'bigger branches'?

Thanks for your help.

Ian

Also, several independent money exchange offices around. You can try this company if you don't find a bank.

I'm not familiar with Central Pinklao (shopping center?). At my Bangkok Bank Branch at my local shopping center, they do not offer foreign exchange services, I got to go to another branch a couple km's away for these services.

I am looking on the Bangkok Bank website at their branch and FX booth locator page but it does not work :)

Ian, just nip over the Pinklao bridge, then you have either Kaosan road or even the big road just off the bridge, opposite the Royal hotel.

on the 2nd floor at Central Pinklao there are 3 banks together, forget which banks, think Thanachart Siam commercial and another. Ive changed money at one of those several times no problem

Those nice Nigerian gentleman on Soi 3 /Soi 5 Sukhumvit will promise you very good exchange rates for your real money. :)

You never get a good rate for notes.

Better to TT money to your account, if you have one.

They have one of the best exchange rates in Thailand. Very close to the rate that you see on xe.com. It's is across the street from Central World, near Big C in a plaza. Be careful as there are two branches one which has lower rates (It's the orange/green logo that has the lower rates I believe). Most of the locals I know here go there to exchange money.
