(sorry don't trust my GF ) Any advice is welcome regarding this region .... don't know about Samui but on KPN i think people are not advertising lower prices, but if you see something you like and make a low offer, in most cases i bet they would take it. i would say sea view land is now about 1.5-3 million/rai which is where it was about 5 years ago.
October 20, 200916 yr You could read this: http://www.samui-phanganmagazine.com/ Probably the best magazine for Samui and KP.

October 20, 200916 yr I recently purhased a plot in Samui at 40% lower than when it was 1st advertised 3 years ago and a friend bought a 2 bed house earlier this year at almost 50% less than it was advertised last year. Both were through an agent.

Or I would never use the term "buy" if the things bought is not 100% legally mine forever........you could say long term rent of a plot or house.....

Can we please not divert from the OP's question, which is simply relating to prices. Do not hijack the thread with ownership issues, which has been discussed many times on the forum. If you wish to comment on that, please find appropriate thread.

Purchased was the word used and both were put in Thai names. Bargains are available, not everyone is desperate to sell and will hold onto their land/proprties but some need the money and anyone from the U.K that purchased 4 or 5 years ago can swallow a 33% reduction if they are converting their proceeds back to Sterling due the fall in the £
