Can I Leave Then Re-enter Thailand On Retirement Ext Once The Visa Has Expired

Featured Replies

i have a non O visa that expired in august, i have a retirement extension dated just before the visa expired.I am visiting Cambodia  for one month. can i leave Thailand for a month and return on the same visa/extension, or do i have to apply for a new non 0/non B, while i am out of the country

As long as you return before the expiration date of that extension of stay you can obtain a re-entry permit for 1,000 baht from the same office you got the extension of stay that will keep that date alive. You enter that re-entry stamp information on arrival form when you return and be sure to check that they stamp for the same expiration date (they have to change stamp to do so).

As said, you need to get a re-entry permit from immigration before you leave Thailand.

ok thanks for the info. can I do this on multiple occasions, and is there a limit on time spent out of the country?

There are no limits but a new re-entry permit (or a multi re-entry at 3,800 baht) is required.

Yes, as often as you want as long as you have valid reentry permits.

The only time limit is the expiration date of your current extension of stay. If you arrive after that date, you must start all over.
