Fairtex Fire Brought Quickly Under Control

Pattaya, October 19 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : At around 9:00 o’clock on Sunday evening police and fire brigade units were called to a fire which had started inside the Fairtex Sport Club and Hotel in North Pattaya. Hotel staff and security managed to evacuate the premises quickly and no-one was injured. The firemen soon had the blaze under control, although it took almost an hour to douse the flames. The fire caused an estimated two million baht worth of damage. Fire investigators believe the usual culprit, an electrical short circuit, was responsible for the fire which began in a sauna. Fortunately, there were no guests using the sauna at the time of the outbreak; otherwise they might not have noticed how much things were warming up.
