Pattaya, October 20 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Monday Afternoon at the Pattaya Floating Market located on the Sukumvit Road in Jomtien an incident involving an elephant occurred which left a 3 year old boy with injuries. The boy, Deckchai Gritdanon, was rushed to the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for treatment to an injury to his stomach caused by the tusk of the elephant. Khun Tong-oon aged 43 is the Elephant Master and rents an area inside the market with his 5 year old female elephant and for a small fee, you can purchase food to feed to the elephant. According to reports from the Elephant Master, two young boys were poking the elephant with a sharp implement which was taking place at the time when the young boy was giving food to the elephant which became agitated and then grabbed the boy and held him tightly with his trunk. Eventually the boy was released and rushed to Hospital at the expense of the Pattaya Floating Market who is now reviewing the elephant attraction while the young boy recovers from injuries sustained during the attack. Doctors tell us he is expected to be released in the next 2 days and will continue his recovery at home.
