Marriage Registration

I am new to the forum and to Thailand. I have been here several times and know some people and talk with lawyers, but still confussed if I need to go to American embassey for paper to say single. I have never been married before. Do I still need to have paper to say so for marriage registration. I would appreciate any information.

If you are wishing to get married, then you must attend at your Embassy to obtain paperwork which stipulates that you are free to marry a Thai lady. Choose a service (There are lots to choose from outside of your Embassy, you will see them carry clip boards) who will do the rest for you, ie. translations, paperwork and take you to the place where you will have a short interview before being issued with Marriage certificates one in English and the other in Thai for both you and your new bride.

Good Luck.
