Where To Find The Best Pastries In Bangkok?

Featured Replies

What is in your opinion the restaurant or cafe serving the best pastries in Bangkok? I've tried a lot of the chain stores in places like Secret Recipe and I find that the cakes are somewhat...lacking. It seems they look better than they taste and use too much lard.

Best cake i've had was in Chiang Mai at a mom and pop store.

This is common throughout most of Asia. They cut the sugar back to local tastes.. or in some cases increase it to a sickening amount and think it's special.

Try the Au Bon (bad spelling I'm sure) places. You'll find them in the bigger malls and some hospitals like Bumrumgrad. They bake on premises and the pastries are the most neutral tasting (between east and west) I've found here..

JW Marriot very good.

Agree Au Bon Pain is a good chain.

Today there are more than 400 Au Bon Pain bakery cafes operating in the United States, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
