Help Needed Re Us Visit Visa For Wife Who Is A Thai Passport Holder Living In The Uk

I need some advice about wether it is possible for my wife to get a visit visa for the US.

We are both currently living in the uk but i suddenly have to go to the US on business for 8 weeks

My wife has a Thai passport with a settlement vise for the UK.

Would it be possible for her to get a visa to enable her to go the states for a couple of weeks to visit me and bring our daughter

Thanks if anyone has any idea

I'd think it'd be no problem, since you are established in the UK, as is she.

Are you an AmCit or Brit?

FYI, normally U.S. visas "require" that the person apply in their own country, but your situation sure seems to fit an exception to the rule. Just be sure to include a bunch of info on your UK situation, and especially, her's.

Agreed, the visa will be almost automatic. Go to US Consulate London (assuming you will apply there) web page complete the online application form and schedule an appointment.

I know several Brits whose wives have US tourist visas. They all got 10 year multi entry on first application.

The fact that she has indefinite leave to remain (ILR) in the UK weighs strongly in favor of US tourist visa issuance, even if you are an American. If you are British, then, counter intuitive as this sounds, you are probably more likely to get her a Tourist visa as there is not the suspicion that this tourist visa will be used to circumvent the need for a marriage visa.

Also just FYI, Embassies and Consulates are supposed to serve anyone residing in the Consular District. Her ILR makes her resident in Britain so there should not be an issue as to whether they will accept an application from her, notwithstanding the fact that she is Thai.

Hopefully this was helpful.

All the Best!
