Extnsion Of Visa Exmpt

Featured Replies

A friend of mine from Canada arrived in Thailand without a visa and was given 30 days. He has been hired by a school and they dont want him missing classes right now. I'd like to know how he can stay in the country until Christmas when he will be able to go and get a nonB from Malaysia? thanks for reading.

Not a chance.

The most he can get is a 7 day extension, for which he most likely will have to show a confirmed outbound ticket.

Christmas is almost 2 months away!

What you mean with: He has been hired and the school doesn't want him to miss classes.

Do they want him to remain here in overstay and work without work permit? This would be a sure fire way of never again being able to work in Thailand, and even risk getting blacklisted if ever caught. 2 months is a long time to be illegal and working.

The only proper way to move forward would be that the school prepares all his paperwork regarding his work permit, put in the application at labor department, and supply him with all necessary paperwork (including the WP3 form supplied by the labor department) so he can go to a neighboring country (Laos for example) and get himself the proper non immigrant B visa...

As said . He needs a Non Imm Visa and a Work Permit to work.
