Pattaya, 28 October, 2009, [PDN]: A Dutchman was arrested, on 27 October, in Pattaya, for suspected drug dealing after a tip off from a police informer. The accused confessed to using drugs but not to selling them. Police, however, are sceptical.

At 9.30 pm, on 27 October, Pol.Lt.Col. Sutham Chaosrithong, Pattaya Police Investigator was informed by a police informer that a foreigner was involved in the illegal drug business, operating from Pattaya Tower Hotel, Pattaya Soi 4. The police rushed to investigate.

Arriving at the scene, the police stormed into Room 705 and arrested Mr. Nicolaas Johannes, [52], a Dutch national. There they found 33 Yah Bah tablets, a 7.65 mm Berretta automatic pistol, and 42 bullets. Drug consuming equipment was also found hidden in his room, which police took as evidence.

Mr. Nicolaas Johannes confessed that, while all the evidence belonged to him, it was for his personal use only, not for resale; however, the police did not believe him. He was charged with the possession of a class 1 drug [Yah Bah], as well as the possession of a dangerous weapon.
