Number Lock

Featured Replies

Got a bit of a strange one for the techies!

My password to log on to my PC is made up of numbers and I use the number pad on the right side of the keyboard. When I boot up number lock is off, Ive gone into the registry and made sure that 'InitialKeyboardIndicators' is set to 2 yet it still wont work until I hit the number lock key! Anyone got any ideas?

OK, Ive managed to sort it out myself. Did a bit of googling and found this link http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_numlock_on.htm For those that might have similar problems just download the .vbs file, double click on it and hey presto number lock is turned on at the log on stage.

Can also be set to 'on' during system board POST within the bios settings on most (all?) computers.

If using windows XP the number lock state is the same as when you last turned it off - (assuming you are logging into windows not onto the BIOS)

My last computer had a setting in the BIOS for this.
