nonthaburial
The government announced this afternoon that Bangkok will retain both airports for international flights. However Don Duang will not be operated/ managed by AoT but by another and will be head to head in competition with Swampy. This to me is a good move and could shake up a lot of people in Swampy. Can only be for the best in my opinion

bunnaag
Head to head competition? Not if the Air Force will manage it.They certainly want to cash in.
colte
Wow - competition between the 2 airports - Could it really work here? If it does it will be the best solution by far to shake up the AOT. Whatever next, competition in the duty free shops?
machlad
Is this another way of saying again Soyouwannaboomboom can not manage all the air traffic and we need to re-open Don M AGAIN Edited November 1, 2009 by machlad
londonthai
it's a good news for the charter flights and smaller airlines. Good to have another airport close by in emergency. Some would chose DM to get trains going north and north east
NanLaew
Oh dear, it's the air force tweaking the neophyte unelected PM's tail again. Suvarnabhumi devastated their Don Muang gravy train so they badly need that revenue stream either restored (unlikely) or replaced (probably). Just smoke and mirrors to cover some major horse trade to keep everyone's fingers in the pie, nose in the trough, etc.
