Please Help Going Mad With Microsoft Office 2007 Problem

Featured Replies

Hi please help I am going slowly mad with an office 2007 problem! I kept getting message saying my Microsoft office was not genuine and it would start marking documents not genuine in 4 days time. So today I went to IT CITY (the store) and bought what I thought was a genuine copy of Microsoft office 2007 basic. Which cost 7450 baht. When we got it home and opened it up we discovered it was just a product key (genuine one) but there was no software disc to load office 2007 onto my computer. So I thought maybe I could download a trial version from Microsoft and then use this product key to unlock it?

Question one would that work?

Question 2 I have now downloaded 2 trail versions and each time it seems to download everything except Microsoft office outlook 2007 which is the main thing I need, why wont it download that> any ideas. HELP!!!!

The version with the disks costs 4000 Baht more I guess :-))) But hard to believe.

Instead of Outlook you can use Thunderbird or Eudora. Both are free AND portable. So you can take them with you on a memory stick when you travel and use them in any internet shop. Try the same with Outlook.

I have been using Eudora for many years. I like that you can have many mailboxes open at the same time and display them in different windows.

But since you have a genuine copy I would contact the M$ hotline. You paid a lot for this product. But I am not sure if the hotline is for free - I never used them.

It seems you unknowingly purchased the Microsoft Office Basic 2007 Medialess License Kit. << Click for more information.

EDIT: If you can't return it, and you don't have Microsoft Office Basic 2007 preinstalled, visit this site.

I am afraid you are right. But I know many people doing it the other way round. They buy the working media without the license kit and don't have any problems :-)))

I suspect Microsoft is trying to get everyone off that as they have already stopped supporting OE. They want everyone to use LIVE. It is really not bad but no way I can find to enlarge the pages for my old eyes like you can do in browser type readers.

All you had to do was add the genuine product key to what you had already on your PC, or phone the number of MS support tell them the product and buy over the phone the genuine product key, there very helpful and will guide you through how to do and stay on the phone untill the PC tells you you have the genuine product key installed...

Myself use OpenOffice, does the same and is FREE + can open MS Office documents
