Supernova
How to install Lightning 0.9 in Thunderbird 1. Download and save the file to your hard disk. 2. In Mozilla Thunderbird, open Add-ons from the Tools menu. 3. Click the Install button, and locate/select the file you downloaded and click "OK". Tywais
The file name from the download will be "lightning-0.9-tb-win.xpi" (note the .xpi extension) and is about 2MB in size. After downloading, at the top of Thunderbird select Tools > Add-Ons then Install and select the above file.

thaimite
A small tip for users on this subject. Lightening mentioned above also lets you receive and process Outlook calendar notifications from your work colleagues If you have a Windows Mobile and want to Sync your Thunderbird information (contacts, calendar etc) with it then try BirdieSync Unforturnately this only works for Windoze and not Linux or Mac, Another product FinchSync claims to do the same thing and should run on every platform supported by Mozilla as it is written in Java though I have not yet tried it. edit Finchsync is free but there is a nominal charge for Birdiesync Edited November 3, 2009 by thaimite
