Marriage Visa Extension

Featured Replies

Hi, My marriage visa ends on the 22nd of April. The problem is that I have to go back to the UK on the 18th of March until the 23rd of April. Does anybody know if I can apply and have the visa before I leave for the UK?

A number of members have reported that they were allowed to apply early for their next annual extentsion of stay in similar circumstances as yours. In your case there is the added complication that if you apply before your departure on 18 March you will still be away 30 days later when you should pick up the final extension. I suggest you print out your travel itinerary, drop by the immigration office and ask them how they would like to handle it.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

If they can not accept that ask if they can allow a 60 day extension to visit wife and then do the normal year when you return. That does not require the 30 day return to immigration so you would have time for your trip.

Thanks for your advise.!!!

Just remember to get a new re-entry permit before you travel if you get a new extension of stay.
