No Passport

Featured Replies

can anyone help explain options i might have or can try if i fly into bkk without a us passport? Im a us citizen with a very complicated problem. I have an appointment with the us embassy there but im afraid i will be detained at airport which will prevent me from reaching the embassy.

So what passport will you be using to depart?

It depends where you are flying from I suppose, if it's from overseas you wouldn't be allowed to fly without your passport, if it's a domestic flight ant photo ID would do.

Maybe helpful if you advised your current location. What exactly are the problems? What advice has the US embassy given you if they know your situation?

That story needs some more explanation, or its a joke!?

You must contact the embassy. If you are eligible, you can get a one time use for travel passport. If you are not eligible, well, I don't know but it sounds bad.

Perhaps the OP is travelling to Bangkok from WITHIN Thailand, Udorn, Phuket, etc.

To OP, you have any other photo ID cards on you? Such as a U.S. drivers permit? A xerox of your passport? According to reports, these often work with Thai airlines for internal flights.

Perhaps we should wait to hear from the OP, who definitely will need a valid passport to fly to Bangkok from outside Thailand.

He appears to be in Asia, but not Thailand. So would need a passport.

Consular issues relating to Bhutan, including assistance to U.S. citizens, are handled by the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi.
