Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack

Featured Replies

I understand that the Upgrade Family Pack is a limited-time introductory offer, but it is a bargain if you have more than one computer. I found several USA web sites advertising it for US$150, when a single Upgrade package is about US$120. For US$150, you can upgrade three computers. It is not OEM, and comes with 32-bit and 64-bit DVDs in the box.

I have two questions:

(1) Has anyone seen it available in Thailand? (Or, in Singapore, as I get there fairly often.)

(2) If I order it online from a USA vendor, will there be customs duty when it hits the shores of the kingdom? If so, any guesses on how much duty?

Family Pack directly from Microsoft for US$149.99 (not sure if Microsoft Store ships overseas, and if so, how much shipping charge)

e-bay seller, with "Buy It Now" price of US$179.95 -- offers shipping overseas for US$14.95

I've been to the commart in Bangkok, where Win7 had a very large boot, but could not find anything on the "family pack".

They were just selling all the versions from basic up to ultimate...

Thanks, monty. That reinforces my suspicion that Family Packs aren't being marketed here.

Is there some more appropriate forum section to be asking about customs duty on software shipped from overseas?

I'm tentatively planning a trip to the USA in January where I could go software shopping, but I'm afraid the "limited time offer" of Family Packs might be finished by then.
