Hi there,

I don't have one of these water maker machines myself, but a golfing friend of mine has one.

This guy is American and he researched all about these machines before he committed to buying one, and he ended up buying his own machine from a company who gave a 5 year warranty on all manufacturer parts and provided a reliable service back up in Thailand.

I believe they provide up to 30 liters a day of pure drinking water, and the water either comes out cold, warm of hot...he tells me his wife uses the warm facility for making up their baby's bottle.

If you want to contact this guy direct for further details from a user, you can PM me, and I will pass on his contact details.

Cheers,

"A U.S. patented proprietary product known as the WaterMaker™ derives and produces healthy, purified drinking water from the 'atmospheric air we breathe'. It completes nature's distillation process, by capturing water vapour before it even touches the earth. It provides a localised source of pure water without any connection to pipes or catch basins. All that it requires is electricity or alternate sources of energy to condense, collect, filter and dispense crystal clear drinking water."

So, what's the difference between an expensive "atmospheric water maker", and an inexpensive "dehumidifier"? The answer is "several hundred dollars".

...and the bullshit that people believe that they get "clean" water :)

Dehumidifiers and air conditioners do not produce potable water. Haven't noticed them in Thailand, but in a couple countries in the West there are labels to that effect on those products.

So the answer is more like, clean water or water that makes you sick. Worth a few $100 extra, eh...
