Thailand Map For Navman Icn 635

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if there is a Thailand map that I could buy or download onto my SD card (not micro sd card) for my Navman icn 635 sat nav?

I am currently in the UK but will be coming to Thailand in the New Year.

Thanks for your help

:) Vistana

I don't think there is any asian maps for Navman GPS devices as they only cover UK, US, Australia and most parts of Europe.

Thanks dvpro for the info... Guess I had better look for a new sat nav! any recommendations as to which one works best in Thailand, as I said I am currently in the Uk so have a wide selection to choose from!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Most any Garmin would fit the bill provided it has enough memory to hold the Thailand map. If the Garmin can accept a memory card, you should be fine. A legal ESRI map for Thailand will cost you 3,000 baht.

Has anyone got or used a Garmin Nuvi 660 or 760? and would they be suitable for the Thailand map, presumably I would have to download it to the SD card?

Any of your user experiences would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Vistana :)

The 760 would be fine - I did exactly as you queried, for a guy yesterday.

The 660 should also be OK.

Thanks for the advise, I am looking at the 760 on line here in the UK and can get it for £140 with a free case, its a Garmin refurbished one with 2010 pre loaded maps etc, looks like a good unit and a good price as well.

What size SD card would you recommend for downloading the Thailand map to? is 4gb big enough!

Thanks very much for your advise.

A 2Gb SD card will be plenty - the Thailand map is less than 200,000Kb.

I enjoy listening to audio books while driving. I have a 2 GB card in a Nuvi 750. The internal memory is plenty big enough for a complete US map and the Thailand map. (2 GB) The memory card has MP3 music and books. The 750 has an FM transmitter as well as an audio jack for the vehicles radio. The audio jack is MUCH better if your radio is equipped with a connection.

Hi Gary/Jackspratt thanks for your advise, I have just received the Nuvi 760 WT from a company here in the Uk looks great, will get a 2GB SD card next ready for the Thailand map when we come over to Thailand in the New Year.

The 760 was a good choice, you'll like it. One neat thing is that when you park your vehicle and take the GPS from its cradle, it remembers the location. Some parks here in Thailand are VERY large and have several parking lots. It's easy to lose your vehicle. (Don't laugh). Your GPS will take you right back to it.
