A simple search for the British Embassy Bangkok website will produce the answers you require. The Embassy is situated in Wireless Road, Bangkok and opens at 0800 hours mondays to fridays. Take a bus from Chonburi to Ekami and then the skytrain to Ploenchit. The embassy is a few minutes walk from that skytrain station.

November 24, 200916 yr See also How to register a birth . You don't have to do it before he is one year old, although ASAP gets it done and out the way.
November 24, 200916 yr Author Thanks Once ive received my birth certificate from the UK i will be sorting it out straight away. Ive heard i dont need to register the birth at the UK embassy in order to obtain my son a UK passport, is this true?
November 25, 200916 yr Birth registration at the embassy is optional, not doing so wont stop your son being British or mean that he can't have a British passport. There are some advantages to doing so, however; the main one being that he'll have a British style birth certificate, which may prove useful to him in later life. See the link I posted above.

March 8, 201016 yr I believe it gets the information into the UK systems so could be an advantage living in the UK and would avoid legalization costs of Thai documents for some things. I would recommend. We have too many posts here of people not having paperwork after decades and the problems they face in trying to obtain at that stage.
March 8, 201016 yr Definitely a good idea to get the UK birth certificate. Its a one time cost, and will make it so much easier if ever he wants to go back to the UK full time. And by the way, being a father gets more expensive as they get older....!
