Moving The Internet Connection

Featured Replies

G'day,

I originally signed up with TOT (phone) and TT&T/Maxnet (Internet). Six months down the contract, I had to move 20 meters down the road, so I went to ask them about how to do that. After running around three different shops (TOT/TT&T/3BB) and being served by rude and mocking staff, I found out that:

1) Submit a request to move the line at TT&T.

2) When they are ready, they will call. So go pay at TOT 1.6K THB.

3) TOT will move the physical line within 5-10 days. In the mean time, use the receipt from TOT and go to 3BB.

4) Pay 3BB 1.5 K THB to move the Internet.

That sounds quite expensive indeed, especially item 4 when it looks like they had nothing much to do when TOT already moved the line.

I am keeping the same number, and I am not going to 3BB as I figured the Internet should just work. I am thinking I am paying 1.5K THB just for the bills to go to the new address. On that same topic, they misspelled my name on the bill and I asked for a name change. They wanted 1K for the name change!

Has anyone moved recently and not pay the Internet part? Will it just work? I'm at step 2 at the moment, not sure when they will come to move the physical line.

Thanks

Matt

Suggest you watch what TT&T do very carefully.

In my case, they got confused (and this was because they simply refused to listen at their office in the Carrefour building, Pattaya Klang), and another staff member re-sold my number.

Unfortunately my house is in the Jomtien area where there are no new lines available, and unlikely to be for a long-time. The re-sale of the number was completed in 2 minutes because they have a long waiting list for that area.

When I went back they were just rude and again made it very clear that they had no intention of listening to anything.

Beware.

Do you have TRUE internet in Pattaya? That shower sounds like they're well worth dumping.
