Blacklists

Featured Replies

Can people please explain to me how you can check the blacklist?? I'm interested in bringing a girl to Australia, but she says she's on a blacklist by the police preventing her from leaving Thailand. Any help/advice is appreciated.

Go talk to the police, have her apply for passport. If this comes up zero find a new girl. :)

going to the police is not an option

I have heard of a blacklist for getting into a country but never one for leaving ? :) I think rather that she is telling you a load of crap for whatever reason ? Find another squeeze :D

Mate, you're going to have to give people something to work with

if you expect advice.

Have you asked her why she's on the black list?

If you can't go to the police, why can't you?

Is she wanted by the police for some reason?

Either way it doesn't look good.

As been said, why shouldn't you be able to go to the police?

Never heard of a blacklist for people leving the country, unless she is awaiting a criminal trail. That is the only case I know of when people can be told not to leave the country.

"going to the police is not an option"

Of course it is. Your GF doesn't want you to check because of what you will find.

This is the third post within a couple weeks with the same type of problem. How about finding a GF that is not a criminal?

This is a real libel statement. Think before you post!

I don't know why such posts should generate these irrelevant negative comments, people fall for gals with a bit of a past - Big Deal

Go to a lawyer, he will contact the police. Your embassy has a list of good lawyers.

BTW, a friend (not me so don't start...) fell for a girl who was on the blacklist, had her passport cancelled after she had been deported from South Africa... this was like ten years ago.

He went to a lawyer who basically said she would only be issued with a new passport if he married and thus rehabilitated her in the eyes of the law.

Girls caught working abroad as prostitutes can be blacklisted and not be able to get a passport again (for bringing the Thai nation into disrepute) - the blacklist does exist.

Presumably, western embassies have access to the blacklist so even with a new passport getting a visa will be a big problem!

The circumstances of the OP's situation do justify some comments on the possible reasons for his girlfriend's problems; but will members please refrain from unnecessary insults and unfounded accusations.

If she was previously a working girl - it sounds like she probably has a "bai daeng" (red sheet) which prohibits her from leaving the country - there are lots of reasons for this - such as

outstanding court case

on probation

incomplete "langan tua" (rehab period involving two-weekly visits for a urine test)

No offense meant - when I lived in the LOS - I knew quite a few very nice girls with this predicament

I suggest you ask her if she has a "bai daeng"

You need to know the reason for the "blacklisting" of your lady.

If it not a serious one there may be a way around it.

thanks to those of you who posted constructive comments, to those of you who just write the usual negative dribble about thai girls "If you have nothing positive or contructive to say please remain silent I will never get back the 1 minute it took me to read ur crap!!!! Yes there is more to the story, no shes not a bar girl, there is a police investigation into a theft of a large amount of products. Im wanting to pursue my own enquiries to verify the truth and seriousness of the matter before i go to the next stage of the relationship with this girl.
