Thai Airways Liability For Luggage Damage?

Featured Replies

On a Thai airways domestic flight from bangkok to khonkaen last week my suitcase got damaged.

The airport staff told me to return the case the next day and they would return it to some department they have in Bangkok for inspection and repair or replacement, which i have done.

But i was just wondering if anyone knows what my rights are in this situation, or had similar situation with thai air, i am not too keen on having it repaired as the shell of the case is cracked and i dont think a repair would last. I was wondering if i can insist on some compensation to put towards a new case. Its a bit difficult because the staff at khonkaen airport are fairly limited, there only seems to be one (unhelpful) man dealing with luggage problems and has no responsibility to do anything apart from send things to bangkok.

What rights?

What will happen...

Many trips to the airport, many phone calls, "falang ting tong", etc...

Or you could just throw it away and buy a nice new case,

Or fix the old one yourself if it can be repaired. Far less problems and wasted time.

Hope you get things sorted out anyway, best of luck..

Did you have travel insurance?

Your chances of satisfaction from the carrier are slim at best!
