Microsoft Security Essentials

Featured Replies

I just upgraded my laptop to Win 7 Pro and rather than load my beloved Norton Internet Security, I opted to try the Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows firewall and Advanced System Care Pro. It stays out of way and doesn't hassle me. That part of it suits me very well.

I figure that if I have any problems, I can always reinstall Windows and go back to Norton.

I too am using MSE on W7, not had any problems, & the price is right!

It worked on Vista, although it does not seem to work on XP... go figure!

I used Windows One Care for several years... which used to cost... $$$ that worked too, but now not available.

Very happy with MSE on XP SP3.

Added free COMODO firewall for outgoing traffic (MS Firewall only checks incoming).

So far, so good. It seems pretty slick with auto updates.

I've used ASC for a long long time and MSE since Win7 came out...they seem fine to me. Previously I use Avast and ASC. Gary can you confirm that it is not possible to install the language packs on Win 7 Professional as I'm fairly sure that is the case...thanks

I was going to say no problem. I did it with the evaluation copy on my laptop. It then occurred to me that the trial copy was Win 7 Ultimate. I think you are right. I had a look and the language options apparently are NOT available with Win 7 Pro. It doesn't seem right does it?

How to easily download and install Windows 7 Language Packs

FWIW: I'm using Windows 7 Pro and I don't recall having to download the Thai language. I believe it is installed already. You just need to select it.

Yes, no problem with W7 Pro, in English.... the choices were there when installation was in progress.
