My Thai girl friend, like most Thais, has a sixth grade Thai education. I have heard there is an adult Thai evening class which she can attend here in Pattaya where in one year she can get her high school diploma or paper which is essentially the same thing. In the U.S. adults can get a GED, which is the same thing at our high school diploma. I contacted the Thai Ministry of Education, but have not received an answer. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure about evening classes, but there is certainly a weekend program.

As far as I know, the Banglamung Gov't school is appointed to perform this program; better drop by there.

Usually these programs start in May, after Summer Holidays and the length depends on the student, but can take up to 3 years.

My Thai friend did his at the temple at the big school in Naklua - on the Pattaya Naklua Road - around Soi 16? He went on the weekends. Didn't cost much either.

Ask at the nearest public school. If they don't offer it there, they will know the nearest school which does.
