Double Entry - Extentions?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am on a Double Entry Tourist Visa, I'm coming up to the end of 1st entry 60 days.... Can I extend this for 1 mth at Chiang Mai immigration office?.... Then I will need to cross a border to activate the next 2nd 60 day entry, then I can extend this for a further mth.  Have I got this right?

Cheers for any imput.

Yes, you an extend both entries with 30 days. An extension costs 1,900 baht and you will need to bring a passport photo.

But check the validity of your VISA. The visa has a stamp that says something like valid till or must be utilized before **-**-****. You have to make the second entry before that date, or you will lose it! Once you have entered for the second time it is no longer important and you can get an extension anyway.

Ok, now I have an 30 day extension & have two further questions:

My double Entry TR was issued in Adelaide 20/10/09. I arrived at BKK 26/10/09 & granted until 24/12/09, I then extended this for 30 days until 23/01/10, but my TR issued in Oz says must be utilized before 19/01/10.

1. Will I lose my 2nd TR in this case?

2. Do I have to cross a border at the end of my extention to activate my 2nd TR or can I do that at Immigration in Chiang Mai?

You must go to another country - enter/exit and return - on the 18th of January or before. You can also extend that 60 day entry for 30 days if you want.

Cheers....

So that means I've lost 5 days on that 30 day extension? Strange system hay?
