Thai Consulate Vintiane Open On Christmas?

Featured Replies

Hello!, doeas somebody know if the thai consulate in Vientiane open on the 24th and 25th of dec?

to get the tourist visa 2 months, is still free, and get on the same day?

thank you!!

Free until March 2010. Next day pickup. They are open.

No reason why it should be closed as neither Laos nor Thailand are christian countries.

Lao Communist, Thailand Buddhist. People from the west always assume that Christmas is a world wide holiday.

24 an 25 still open closed 1 of january

I don't (although I'm from the South, and not the West)! Considering the number of Christmas trees around Thailand (saw some in Laos this week too) the oversight is understandable.

I love the fact that everything is open on Christmas (and other Christian holidays) although I'd gladly trade Songkran for Christmas anyday. :)

I thought I'd post this in here rather than start a new topic as it is a similar question...

Does anyone know if the Thai consulate in Laos will be open on January 6th? It is a public holiday in Laos, but according to the calendar on their website they are not closed.....but they are closed on March 9th which is a Laos public holiday so I am a bit confused.

6th January is marked as national holiday in Laos (Pathet Lao Day) so consulate should be closed. Surprised to see it is not shown as such on embassy website. Suggest you give them a call to clarify.

OK, thanks for the reply, will do.

I do think than American people assume that too...

and there are people from the East... :)
